Apprenticeship

You’ll work as part of a team on both commercial and domestic sites. Training is designed to help you quickly progress and give you vast experience in, design, programming, maintenance, fault finding and more so you can contribute whilst on site.

Training

All of your training will take place at with our industry leading training partners, Skills4Security. Practical training will be delivered on site with our fully qualified electricians and the theory training you’ll need for passing exams will be taught at our multi-award winning college.

Career

At the end of your apprentice we offer a contract to join our team as an electrician. From there we offer long-term career progression, many of our current managers and directors started their career's at Barlows as an apprentice.

What qualifications will I get at the end of the apprenticeship?

Level 3 Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician

The Level 3 Fire, Emergency and Security Systems qualification teaches you how to safely design, install, commission and maintain electronic systems in and outside simple and complex premises to protect
individuals, homes and properties from risk and danger. Systems include fire, security and emergency systems to detect intrusion, provide surveillance, monitor and control access to buildings, properties and sites or to detect fire and emergencies.

Skills include interconnection of equipment, programming, verifying performance/fault finding and testing and maintaining. Technicians will carry out planned jobs to install new systems, modify and maintain existing systems as well as respond to call-outs to repair faulty systems where they will utilise their problem solving skills.
