Lauren is 20 and started her Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship at Clifford College in 2019, joining the Barlows team in our Head Office in Malpas, Cheshire. Lauren is nearing the end of her apprenticeship and looking forward to becoming a fully qualified electrician. We caught up with Lauren to find out how she has found the apprenticeship process and her time at Barlows so far.
How do you feel as you approach the end of your apprenticeship?
“I am really excited to finish my apprenticeship. I am looking forward to being able to get out on my own and get a van as this is a big achievement.”
How has Barlow’s been able to support you during this transition?
“My manager, assessor and myself are in frequent contact to ensure I get the support I may need to enable me to complete my apprenticeship.”
How has Clifford College supported you in gaining this qualification?
“The support from Clifford College has been always been really good, I can contact anyone from Clifford College for help and they will always do their best to help me.”
What advice do you have for anyone else coming out of their apprenticeship?
“The best bit of advice I could give is to use the support as much as you can, use all sources and don’t be afraid to ask for the help, it is there for a reason!”
Would you recommend this apprenticeship to someone leaving school?
“100%, it is the best way to get a qualification as you are hands on as well as learning in college, plus you are debt free afterwards.”
