Barlows UK Ltd are delighted to sponsor employee and local triathlete Oliver Hailes this year as he travels to Kona, Hawaii to take on the 2022 Ironman World Championships in October!
An Ironman Triathlon a long-distance triathlon race consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.20 km) run completed in that order. It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world. The Ironman World Championship has been held annually in Hawaii since 1978 and has become known for its gruelling length, harsh race conditions and television coverage.

About Oliver
Oliver, has been our Business Development Manager working from our Head Office in Malpas, Cheshire since 2016. He took up Triathlon in 2020 after playing football for many years and wanted a new challenge. This year, in his first Ironman race, he qualified for the World Championships as an Age Group (AG) athlete by winning the Male 18-24 Age Group at Ironman Lanzarote.
So far this year, he has competed 4 times and continues to improve. His results in 2022:

- Alderford Sprint Tri - 1st Overall
- North West Sprint Tri - 1st Overall
