On Friday 13th April, our Fire and Security department welcomed the NSI (National Security Inspectorate), to carry out their bi-annual audit. Audits are undertaken in order to assess whether or not high quality standards are being adhered to, in order for the company to retain their Gold Standard accreditation, which acts as a representation that work complies with industry standards. Barlows Fire & Security already hold the Gold Standard, but following on from this recent audit, we are pleased to announce that they have been recommended for ISO9001:2015 approval. This is an essential step in ensuring that NSI Gold accreditation is retained and also ensures the company are working to the highest possible standards in quality management.
The NSI auditor also carried our a site visit to a Grade 3 intruder alarm system installation. Following on from the visit, we have been awarded a grade A, which is the highest grading possible for this type of assessment. We believe this demonstrates to our customers that they can be assured that we are and will continue to work to the highest standards possible within the Fire & Security Industry.
All NSI approved companies must comply with the relevant British, European and International standards for technical excellence. Tasks undertaken or compliance for example are the security screening of their employees, provision of staff training and supervision, as well as recognition of industry levels and the holding of insurances, to protect both customers and employees. For the majority of schemes, companies must also agree to be audited once every 6 months by fully trained NSI auditors, including random visits to end user sites. Only companies determined to be the best in their class subject themselves to this stringent process.
