It has often felt as though not much has changed since March (except the weather). So, you can imagine how happy we were to hear about the progress our Apprentices have been making this year! In particular the top two apprentices for the month of November.
This month’s runner-up is Rich Crawley, is currently working with our Fire Security & Alarms department in High Wycombe. Rich was nominated by Leigh Buckley, Clifford College Assessor who told us about the progression he has made: “His target percentage for his portfolio was 39%, yet he has achieved a percentage of 64%. Always positive towards work and his portfolio, he submits good quality work on every assessment and is constantly aiming to improve himself.”
His Manager, Christian Manahan, Contracts Manager said “Richard came to work for me last year to improve his career from a job he wasn’t employing in the motor trade, we gave Richard the chance to shine and that’s certainly what he has done! He is a pleasure to work with and has a very bright future ahead of him. Well done Rich!”
Jack Williams of our Testing & Inspection Department was the overall winner for November’s Apprentice of the month and received a £30 gift voucher to spend on tools. Jack, now a third year was nominated by Karl Simmons & Richard Sands, both Assessors at Clifford College.
Karl Simmonds on why he nominated Jack, “Jack has excellent communication skills which has enabled him to progress so well in his portfolio. He solves any problems with gathering evidence, speaking to his manager about getting the correct scope. His commitment to becoming a qualified electrician has shown and he is not afraid to use new technology.”
Richard Sands explained why he nominated Jack, “Jack has grown in maturity over the last few years and has developed with the help of his employer Barlows Uk Ltd. He has recently passed his testing module in class and his skills have developed massively. He now seems confident in testing which will help him within the workplace.”
Jack’s Manager Mark Holden, Director said “Jack has made terrific progress in the last 12 months showing maturity and an excellent passion to learn his trade. His colleagues hold him in high esteem due to his excellent work ethic and communication skills. Well done Jack!”
