We wish the team the best of luck!” Similarly, Jill Barlow from Barlows UK Ltd said “It is a pleasure to support an enthusiastic, passionate group of young women who aspire to achieve their dreams and inspire the younger generations who follow.” Senior women squad members Izzie Howell and Emily Drysdale have both been named in the travelling squad, with Izzie Howell leading the team as captain. Foundation Friday | Marie Curie Cancer Care

28.03.22

To support the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity, we held our first Foundation Friday event of 2022. This year, we are hosting a Foundation Friday quarterly and organising a series of challenges to help raise even more funds for the Foundation and to support our charities and local communities. The theme for this Foundation Friday was daffodils, this was to support The Great Daffodil Appeal, Marie Curie's largest annual fundraising campaign. The daffodil is a symbol of spring that represents new beginnings and rebirth. With a bright and cheerful yellow colour, they're a good, life-affirming sign and have become synonymous with the charity. Day and night, Marie Curie nurses provide highly skilled care in hospices and people's homes across the UK. Every penny provided allows the nurses to offer critical care to more dying people and their families.

We are always working on solutions to reduce our carbon emissions, we have installed electric vehicle chargers at our offices whilst we trial the changing technology in electric vehicles. If you are thinking of changing to an electric vehicle, contact Barlows EV today.

Christmas Jumper Day | Foundation Friday

13.12.21

On Friday, December 10th, we participated in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day! Our crew dressed up in their craziest, most festive sweaters and donated to Save the Children. We did our share to help improve the future for children by putting on our Christmassy knits and contributing. Every pound we raised will go towards helping kids in the UK and throughout the world acquire the basic necessities they need to laugh, play, and enjoy the magic all around them! Our teams also took part in the Save the Children quiz which included questions on festive films & music, Christmas around the world and a quick look back at 2021! As competitive as Barlows is, there could only be one winner, this year it was Kevin Marshall from our Manchester branch who scored and impressive 27 points. Head Office's "Barlows Local" department took second place with 26 points and Manchester's Steve Wilson rounded off the podium in 3rd place with 25 points! Christmas Jumper Day was the final Foundation Friday of the year and what a year it has been! We can't thank the Barlows Team enough for getting together and supporting the sometimes ridiculous themes to raise money for our local communities and various charities! Having raised over £1,000 for some great causes we can't wait to make 2022 even better and push our Barlows Foundation to new limits with some very exciting fundraising events.
