Barlows Help Refurbish Santa’s Sleigh | Northwich Roundtable

16.12.21

The Northwich Roundtable recently refurbished there Christmas Santa Sleigh and Barlows were able to provide and install the new LED lighting to support their charity work. We have installed Tegra LED Essential circular 360 LED flex which provides full 360º illumination in an 18mm diameter Neon Flex, making it perfect for use outdoors which can bend around the shape of the sleigh. The Christmas Santa Sleigh is visiting local communities around Northwich to help Santa visit the local children and too bring some festive cheer to everyone. Residents have been making donations which are collected and will be distributed to support local charities and good causes. Northwich Roundtable are a group of men aged 18-45 who support local events and charities while also been part of a group of friends and taking part in social activities.

Christmas Jumper Day | Foundation Friday

13.12.21

On Friday, December 10th, we participated in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day! Our crew dressed up in their craziest, most festive sweaters and donated to Save the Children. We did our share to help improve the future for children by putting on our Christmassy knits and contributing. Every pound we raised will go towards helping kids in the UK and throughout the world acquire the basic necessities they need to laugh, play, and enjoy the magic all around them! Our teams also took part in the Save the Children quiz which included questions on festive films & music, Christmas around the world and a quick look back at 2021! As competitive as Barlows is, there could only be one winner, this year it was Kevin Marshall from our Manchester branch who scored and impressive 27 points. Head Office's "Barlows Local" department took second place with 26 points and Manchester's Steve Wilson rounded off the podium in 3rd place with 25 points! Christmas Jumper Day was the final Foundation Friday of the year and what a year it has been! We can't thank the Barlows Team enough for getting together and supporting the sometimes ridiculous themes to raise money for our local communities and various charities! Having raised over £1,000 for some great causes we can't wait to make 2022 even better and push our Barlows Foundation to new limits with some very exciting fundraising events.

Official Match Sponsors at Wycombe Wanderers FC

09.12.21

On Tuesday (7th December 2021) we were delighted to be the Official Match Sponsors for Wycombe Wanderers FC. The Chairboy's were up against Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Burton Albion looking to continue their current run of good form and keep the pressure on League Leaders Rotheram. Great Hospitality at Adams Park Matchday sponsorship granted up to six guests from the Barlows team access to their premium hospitality suite ‘The Woodlands Lounge’ with unlimited access to the bar and buffet. The Barlows team had an amazing time and were looked after brilliantly by all the staff at Adams Park. An evening that was made even better as the Chairboys led from the 16th minute and went on to win the match 2-1. For advertising, we received two minute advertising across the pitchside LED advertising boards, regular tannoy announcements, online branding, a signed and framed player shirt and complimentary half time tea and coffee. The team also had the pleasure of presenting the Man of the Match award to debutant Chris Forino after the game. If you've never seen Wycombe Wanderers play at Adams Park, you should. It's a true family club that goes out of its way to make all of its guests feel very welcome, and the facilities are becoming better and better every year. We look forward to supporting Wycombe Wanderers FC throughout this season and hope the team can continue their good form to make a return to the Championship next season!

Barlows Supports Greene King’s Macmillan Ball

17.11.21

We were asked by one of our long standing customers, Greene King if we could "Make a difference" and help raise as much money as possible at their upcoming Macmillan Ball! Macmillan Cancer Support is committed to improving the lives of everyone affected by cancer and inspiring others to do the same.  The team at Greene King were inspired to raise a whopping target of 2 million pounds this year! They have worked our socks off running events, cake sales, quizzes, cycling, (the list goes on) to raise as much as they can. Their efforts came to a head on the 12th of November at their Macmillan Ball 2021! At Barlows (UK) Ltd we aspire to give back to the communities in which we work and live. Our aim is to have a positive effect on not only the local economy but also the overall health and well-being of the community and its people. The Barlows Foundation was born to support causes just like this one from Greene King, we had to get involved and show our support! We were fortunate to be able to donated £150 to the charity and two bottles of our very own Barlows Gin to be won in the raffle. From the event and the Macmillan Text Raffle, the team at Greene King raised just over £1,000! The ball looked like a fantastic evening with an awesome atmosphere! Well done to everyone involved in creating such a fantastic event to raise money for a great cause. Over the last twelve months everyone at Destination Food Pubs in Greene King has worked tirelessly and have managed to raise a massive ONE MILLION POUNDS for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Official Partners of Wrexham AFC

10.11.21

We are delighted to become a partner and the Official Electrical, Fire & Security Installation Provider of Wrexham AFC! Having supported the local football club for many years now, continuing our support was always going to be an easy decision to make. Made even easier with the incredible news that Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds wanted to take over the club. Matthew Scott, Director said: “Barlows are delighted to become a partner of the Football Club during these exciting times. “The Club is becoming more visible in the community which is a good thing and something we strongly believe in, taking on a lot of apprentices and a lot of contracts within the Wrexham area. “We feel it’s going to continue to help us strengthen our ties locally and with the community and we’re excited to be part of the Wrexham journey as it improves and goes along.”

Halloween | Freaky Foundation Friday

09.11.21

Because fundraising is such an essential part of the Barlows culture, we kept our Foundation Friday activities going by encouraging everyone to come to work dressed in their frightening costumes on Halloween. We made a donation to the Barlows team for their participation in the Pretty Muddy run for Cancer Research. At our headquarters, there was also a pumpkin carving competition where people could show off their creepy artistic abilities; the winner was Rich Brookes – Congratulations, and well done to everyone who participated! Thank you to everyone who gave and participated in the event, which was a spooky success with over £120.00 donated to Cancer Research. "Thank you to everyone who took part in this event, whether by dressing up, carving a pumpkin, or giving! The dedication that everyone has shown as we continue to raise a significant amount of money for such good organisations is incredible." said Oliver Hailes, a member of Barlows' Foundation team. We would like to invite our local communities to get in contact and give us some suggestions on where we can use our funds or different Foundation Friday themes that we could try out! Please get in touch via email: foundation@barlowsuk.co.uk.

Barlows Lancaster Supports Local Junior Football Team!

29.10.21

We are proud to have been able to sponsor local junior football team, Lune Valley FC under 10's! Barlows were asked if we were willing to sponsor brand-new training tops for the current u10 team at Lune Valley FC. With Barlows not having sponsored any junior football in the local area, we thought this was a great way of giving something back to a local community junior team and we couldn't wait to get involved! Good luck to everyone involved in the club, we are rooting for you!

Foundation Friday | Wild West

01.10.21

We continued our Foundation Friday event in great style, with our take on the Wild West! Our team made a fabulous effort channelling their inner cowboy/cowgirl raising some money to support the Barlows team running the Great Manchester Run 10km/Half Marathon dressed as cowboys and girls! Our team were delighted to be part of the Tim Bacon Foundation's Hospitality Team Challenge with fellow organisations from the hospitality sector! For a number of years, Barlows UK Ltd have been proudly supporting the Tim Bacon Foundation which was established in Tim's name to recognise his achievements, continue his legacy and to echo his legendary spirit of generosity.
