As we continue our partnership with local football club Wrexham AFC, we had to get involved in the clubs latest stadium improvements for supporters with disabilities. The Club had a number of initiatives – led by DLO Kerry Evans – to improve the spectator experience for supporters with disabilities too.
Wrexham AFC sought to revamp the sensory room in the Mold Road Stand, part of the Club’s autism friendly commitments ready for the 2021 – 22 season. When we heard about Wrexham’s plans to upgrade the current room, we knew we had to get involved. We sent engineer Andrew Armstrong down to install new lighting, a television and an improved heater to ensure a cosier room in the colder months of the season. Because of the huge impact this facility had in the community, it was only right that we completed this project free of charge.
Matthew Scott, Director said; “It was great to work with the Club and Kerry on this project to help bring additional enjoyment to the great experience children already have at the Racecourse.
The work carried out shows our great bond with the Club as a sponsor and support on what looks like an exciting ride ahead.”
We look forward to supporting Wrexham AFC in the upcoming season and hope the recent stadium improvements can be enjoyed by many fans of the Club soon!
