Following on from our Family Fun Day, the Barlows team took a trip to Alder Hey Children's Hospital to witness first-hand where the amazing funds raised by our local community will be put to use and to discover the incredible difference they make to the lives of so many young patients and their families.
About Alder Hey
Alder Hey Children’s Charity plays a pivotal role in elevating Alder Hey Children's Hospital to the highest standards of patient care. Every year, the charity supports approximately 330,000 patients and their families, by helping to make their hospital experience truly world-class. Since 2013, the charity has successfully raised over £72 million, channelling these funds into acquiring life-saving medical equipment and establishing cutting-edge facilities that significantly enhance the daily lives of countless families. They rely on continued support and donations to further their mission.
Our Visit
Our Barlows team met Adam from Alder Hey Children's Charity, where we shared Jay's touching story and the heartfelt reason behind our fundraising efforts for Alder Hey. Adam then gave them a tour of their facilities, shedding light on the profound impact of their work. The team were amazed by the state-of-the-art amenities, including, the Sunflower House designed to support children facing challenging mental health difficulties, their cutting-edge laboratory, and were truly inspired by the innovation lab, a testament to their commitment to progress and excellence.
Our Donation
During our visit, we had the honour of presenting a cheque amounting to an impressive £3,500. This achievement stands as a testament to the remarkable support from our suppliers, employees, and our local community. Witnessing first-hand the impact our contribution will have and the difference Alder Hey Children's Charity makes in the lives of young patients and their families was inspiring. We are grateful for the privilege of supporting such incredible causes and for the opportunity to be able to give back.
