Radclyffe School Careers Day

08.11.23

Our amazing team from our Manchester Office recently visited Radclyffe School to give a careers presentation!

During our visit, our team at Barlows took the opportunity to engage with students, providing a clear insight into the dynamic life at our company and the career opportunities available to them when they leave school.

Our Involvement

Our Manchester team recently had the fantastic opportunity to visit Radclyffe School, where we gave an engaging and informative careers presentation. The goal was to provide valuable insights into the world of apprenticeships and qualified electricians. Our team shared the journey, experiences, and day-to-day responsibilities of apprentices and electricians in the field. To make the session even more hands-on and engaging, we provided the students with the chance to try their hands at wiring plug tops. It was a great experience for the students and our team, hopefully showcasing the possibilities that a career in our industry can offer. We hope that this visit has inspired the next generation of electricians and left them with a clearer understanding of the pathways they can take to succeed in this exciting field.

2nd Year Apprentice - Nick

As well as the careers presentation and practical session, we were fortunate to have our second-year apprentice, Nick accompany the team. Nick was able to answer students' questions with first-hand knowledge and experience. He also provided an insight into the daily life of an apprentice electrician. His personal experiences, challenges, and triumphs added a real-world dimension to our presentation. His involvement left a lasting impact on the students, offering them a glimpse into what their own future as apprentices could hold.
